LIN4 Syntax and Semantics rotates events between Cornell, Rochester, and Syracuse. The most recent event was the Workshop on Altaic Formal Linguistics (WAFL) 16, held at Rochester. Proceedings of the workshop will be published by MIT WPL.

Collaborative Goals

The Working Group brings to together linguists from Cornell University, Syracuse University, and the University of Rochester. The collaborative activities organized by our group aim to further our understanding of the structure and meaning of natural languages and contribute to developing linguistic theory.

Group Outcomes

WAFL 16 featured presentation of 24 peer reviewed talks, as well as one alternate peer reviewed talk (not presented but submitted to the proceedings), and 3 invited talks. The conference was fully online, organized and hosted by by Asia Pietraszko. As with past WAFL conferences, proceedings will be published by MIT Working Papers in Linguistics. Funding was entirely from the Corridor.
