The CNY Early Americas Consortium is pleased to host Dr. Juan Jose Ponce-Vazquez, Associate Professor of History, University of Alabama. Dr. Ponce-Vazquez will discuss his recent book, "Islanders and Empire: Smuggling and Political Defiance in Hispaniola, 1580-1690" (Cambridge, 2020).
