Frederick Luciani (Ph.D., Yale University) is Professor of Spanish and Latin American Studies at Colgate University; Associate Editor of Colonial Latin American Review. His research focuses on convent literature and culture of the colonial period, the Hispanic Baroque, Latin American Romanticism, 19th transatlantic literary relations, travel literature and the Latin American short story. His publications include Literary Self-Fashioning in Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz  (Lewisburg: Bucknell University Presses, 2004) and his edition of Joaquín Barruchi y Arana,  Relación del festejo que a los Marqueses de las Amarillas les hicieron las Señoras Religiosas del Convento de San Jerónimo (México, 1756) (Madrid / Frankfurt / México:  Iberoamericana / Vervuert / Bonilla Artigas, 2011).
