Resistance Mapping: CNY Working Group Book Gathering

About This Event

Whitney Sperrazza (Rochester Institute of Technology)

The Resistance Mapping Working Group aims to explore how digital tools might support ongoing efforts to map the interwoven histories of Native dispossession, racial segregation, and immigration in Western NY and document how past and present activism has challenged patterns of inequity. Please join us for an informal introduction and discussion surrounding the working group's goals. We'll distill our discussion through a common text: Community Literacies as Shared Resources for Transformation, editors Joanne Larson and George H. Moses (Routledge 2017). There is no requirement to read the book prior to the discussion, but please feel free to contact one of the Resistance Mapping organizers for a copy.
