Investigating language variation in multilingual communities
About This Event
Since its inception this group has been dedicated to exploring common ground between two related linguistic enterprises: the documentation and description of endangered languages, and the study of language variation and change in multilingual communities. In this session we will focus on languages spoken in New York State. In this session our goals are to reinvigorate the group around common goals and planning for upcoming events and to use the opportunity to invite an outside speaker to speak on language description and documentation in New York State.
