Data Warriors Presents: Safe Communitites
About This Event
The event will be organized and run by high school students. The event will consist of tables where students will share posters, hands-on activities, and what they have learned about local social injustices through a mathematical lens. Some of the tables will include (a) redlining and function representation; (b) lead poisoning and exponential decay; and (c) crime rates and correlation. This portion of the event will involve food and mingling. Next, we have invited guest speakers to participate in a student-led panel. We will conclude the event with more food/ mingling and a raffle/ give-away.
