About This Event

The Ancient Philosophy Working Group will present and discuss papers on topics in ancient Philosophy.

The following are the papers that the Working Group will discuss:

  • “All that Heaven Allows: Boethius on Divine Foreknowledge, Contingency, and Free Choice," Christopher Noble (Syracuse University)
  • “Learning by Induction in the Symposium," Peggy Zhu (Cornell University)
  • “Fulfilling the Children’s Wish: Plato’s Account of Being in the Sophist as a Theory of Predication," Tushar Irani (Wesleyan University)
