Book Talk on Breath Better Spent: Living Black Girlhood

About This Event

We are hosting a virtual book talk to discuss Damaris B. Hill’s Breath Better Spent: Living Black Girlhood (Bloomsbury, 2022), a narrative-in-verse wherein Hill hoists her childhood self onto her shoulders, together taking in the landscape of Black girlhood in America. Dr. Hill will discuss her book in the context of interrogating Black girlhood and reflecting on the contemporary experiences of Black girls. There will be time for dialogue and Q & A following Dr. Hill's talk. Additionally, after the event, we will select 20 participants to receive a complementary copy of Breath Better Spent.
