Collaborative Goals

Our goal is to foster conversations across music, language, literature, theater, and media through contemporary films from Latin America. We seek to:

  • Invite film directors, artists, and producers from Latin America to engage directly with scholars and students across Corridor institutions on the ethical, political, and cultural dimensions of representation.
  • Host presentations, screenings, symposia, and seminars to foster cross-cultural dialogue among different departments, disciplines, and institutions.
  • Rotate activities across participating campuses to expand access, share responsibilities, and strengthen interinstitutional collaboration.
  • Support students in courses that specialize in media studies through conversations with participants in the Latin American film industry and exposure to current debates in the field.
  • Provide opportunities for students to attend events, participate in discussions, and engage informally with visiting guests.
  • Encourage interdisciplinary exchange among fields such as languages, literature, music, theater, and visual arts, highlighting film as a space where aesthetic practice intersects with broader social questions.
