Collaborative Goals

We aim to build a collaborative network of scholars across the Humanities Corridor who are engaged with science fiction (SF) as both a scholarly field and a critical framework for understanding contemporary issues. Our goals are as follows:

  • To identify and connect faculty across institutions working on SF in diverse disciplinary contexts.
  • To foster sustained dialogue through a collaboratively produced, public-facing podcast.
  • To create record and share podcast interviews that foreground both intellectual and affective engagements with the genre.
  • To use these conversations to explore key thematic areas: e.g., AI, climate change, technological futures, capitalism, social justice, etc.
  • To establish a sustainable model for ongoing collaboration by rotating podcast leadership and developing future collective initiatives across institutions.
  • To host leading SF scholars who will provide a lecture and contribute to the podcast from year two forward.
