Videographic Pedagogies
About This Event
VAC3's first activity of 2026-27 focuses on videographic pedagogies, and it dovetails with the graduate and undergraduate courses that Professors Joel Burges (UR) and Pavitra Sundar (Hamilton) are teaching in Fall 2026. We have invited the acclaimed performance-based media artist, Dayna McLeod, to serve as pedagogic mentor for a series of events. Drawing on her extensive expertise in making and teaching videographic criticism, McLeod will lead two sessions on incorporating self-performance into video essays, including practical training on how to work with green screens and other technical matters. She will also visit two UR courses and helm a teaching-focused discussion with workshop participants.
