Open Access Book Publishing: In Conversation with University of California, University of Michigan, and MIT Presses

About This Event

While the conversations (and funding) for OA have primarily focused on journals and the STEM disciplines, OA book publishing options for humanities disciplines are expanding in university presses across the globe. What is “open access publishing?” Is open access right for me as an author? How do I cultivate relationships with presses? What should I ask my publisher? How do I advocate for open access support at my institution? What do editors think about our open access future? Join us for a lively conversation with leading OA publishers to get answers to these questions! The discussion will be geared toward authors’ OA options, but participants will also benefit from hearing insider perspectives on developing OA programs within the world of academic publishing and the future of open access.
