Learning in and from Relationships: Reciprocity, Context, and Community
About This Event
Building on a conversations at the U of R, hosted with support from the CNY Humanities Coordidor grant in December, and on May 8th with support from Partners for Campus-Community Engagement, Faculty from diverse campuses will gather at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva on May 12th (noon - 2pm) to explore how teaching intersects with social action, community engagement, collective action, and community development. Through shared examples and candid discussion, participants will examine where these approaches align, where they diverge, and what is gained or lost when one is taught without the other. Faculty colleagues will highlight lessons from the Social Action Institute, share best practices and how faculty frame learning that is responsive to community realities. Join us for lunch, networking, and idea sharing.
