We are delighted to remind you of an exciting panel we’re hosting on Zoom on December 9 from 9 am-11 am ET. We will be discussing automobile infrastructures with three experts: Lindsey Green-Simms, author of Postcolonial Automobility: Car Culture in West Africa (University of Minnesota Press, 2017); Timo Müller, PI of Off the Road: The Environmental Aesthetics of Early Automobility, and author of Travel / Escape: Hip Hop’s Transatlantic Mobilities. Amerikastudien / American Studies 68.3 (2023) and “Infrastructural Poetics,” in Rethinking Infrastructure Across the Humanities (Transcript, 2023); and our own Isaiah Ellis, who is finishing his book, to be titled Apostles of Asphalt: The Religious Politics of Infrastructure in the American South.
